What each claim is about, from age and safety to care. Every finding carries one category and one severity.

What a category is

Every claim in Shopify’s version is about something: who a product is for, what’s in it, what it does. The category says which. It’s set by the same AI review that checks the claim, and it’s a label for finding and filtering, not a verdict. How much a claim matters is its severity, which is set separately.

The categories

The examples are from Little Sprout Co., the sample store in our docs. It isn’t a real store.

Category and severity together

A finding’s label reads category first, then severity, like “Safety · Serious” or “Care · Minor.” The two don’t always move together. Most Safety and Age & choking claims are Serious, but a Care claim can be Serious too if it touches safety.
