FAQ

Plans, products, billing, and whether Hearsay can change what Shopify says. (It can’t.)

Last updated Sep 26, 2026

Can Hearsay change what Shopify says?

No. Nobody outside Shopify can edit its summary. We show you what it says, explain what’s off, and suggest changes to your own listing that may help.

Which AI agents does this cover?

We read Shopify’s catalog, which feeds agents like ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Muse. Each agent may use that data a little differently.

Do I need to install anything for the free scan?

No. Type your store name and we check 5 of your products, and tell you how many of your products are in Shopify’s AI catalog. Installing checks every product, re-checks daily and emails you when something changes.

Why only 5 products for free?

Checking a product properly takes real work on our end. Five is enough to see whether Shopify’s summary matches what you wrote. Installing covers the rest.

What counts as a product?

Each product in Shopify’s AI catalog counts once, however many variants it has. Drafts and archived products don’t count.

What if I have more than 250 products?

On Hearsay we check 250 of them, the most recently updated first, and tell you in the app. Hearsay Plus covers up to 2,500. More than 2,500? Get in touch.

Is there a free trial?

No. The free scan is the trial: 5 of your products, checked in full, no install.

How am I billed?

Through Shopify, on your usual Shopify bill. To change or cancel, “Change plan” in the app opens Shopify’s own plan page.

Will you tell anyone what you find?

No. Your report is yours. When we share examples publicly, we never name the brand.

Do you read my orders or customers?

No. We read product listings only, never orders or customers. See Privacy.
